Rapper Snoop Dogg and NFL player Willie McGinest are giving a helping hand to fundraising efforts for the Kroc Center community education and recreation facility, located in Long Beach, CA.
Joined by Sixth District Councilman
Dee Andrews, Snoop and McGinest announced their support Wednesday (June 17) for the project. "These people are Long Beach born and raised, and they want to come back and show they're Long Beach friendly," said Andrews of the celebrities' involvement.

woes extend to digital sales

The struggling music units of Sony Corp. and Bertelsmann AG merged in 2004 so that a combined company could better fend off illegal file sharing and shrinking CD sales.
The new recording company, named Sony BMG, was expected to wield the kind of resources that could challenge Universal Music Group as the largest of the four top labels. Sony BMG would own a chunk of U.S. music sales almost as big as Universal's.
To say the deal failed to deliver on the promise is probably an understatement. More than four years after the merger, there isn't
a more troubled major label around.
In fairness, Sony is trying to regroup after buying out Bertelsmann late last year. It remains the second-largest recording company and currently has the No. 1 album in the country:
Bruce Springsteen's Working on a Dream. Sony Music could also become the first major to renew its music licensing agreement with YouTube, according to sources close to the deal. For the recording industry, YouTube represents a potential new market.

Biography of LEEAH (aka) THUGG M$.
THUGG M$. aka Leeah was born and raise in Dallas Tx. to Vivian and Larry Williams. She is the 4th sibling, at age 25, of 6. Leeah began expressing her passion for singing at age 8 for her home church choir. She started young with her talent of cheering as well for a little league football team namsed the Redskins for 3 years. She realized she wanted to make singing and medical her top careers. So she continued on in adolescent years as a singer/writer. While attending David W. Carter in the year 2000, Leeah gave birth to her 1st son, Jaleel, now age 8, then moved to Duncanville High and graduated in June of 2001. Shortly after in December, she gave birth to her 1st daughter, Dyiamonde, now age 6. She continued her education at Kaplan University and upon graduation, received a Certificate and was named a Certified Crime Scene Investigator. She began her career at Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office. In December of 2006, she gave birth to her 2nd son, Elijah, now age 2. In November of 2007 she became a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) after completing Platt Health Careers Training. In May of 2008, she gave birth to her 2nd daughter, Kahleea, now 3 ½ months. Although she started out singing, she has strongly positioned herself in using both talents of singing as well as rapping. She writes and records on a daily basis preparing for the road of stardom.
